Robertson County mourns the loss of a remarkable man, who wore many hats symbolizing his unwavering dedication and service to its people. Rene Ferrell, a beloved figure in the community, has passed away, leaving behind his daughter.

Throughout his career, Ferrell held various roles that showcased his commitment to public service. His journey in Robertson County  when he served as a police officer for the Hearne Police Department. During this time, he also  contributed to the efforts of the Robertson County Narcotics Enforcement Task Force.

In 2005, Ferrell embraced a new opportunity with the Franklin Police Department as a full-time patrol officer and simultaneously joined the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department. Even after leaving full-time police work. Even though he left Full time Police work he continued with Franklin PD as a reserve officer.

Eventually, Ferrell transitioned to Robertson County EMS, where he started as an EMT and steadily climbed the ranks until he became the EMS Director for RCEMS. For several years, he diligently served in this capacity, propelling RCEMS forward under his leadership. However, when an opportunity for advancement arose, Ferrell accepted the position of Operations Director at St. Joseph's EMS in Bryan/College Station.

Before embarking on his lifelong commitment to public service in Robertson County, Ferrell had already served his country as an Air Force Veteran. He found his true home in Robertson County, where he resided for more than two decades.

Hailing from Corpus Christi, Texas, Ferrell quickly assimilated into the Robertson County community, forging strong friendships, and earning the respect of all who had the privilege of working alongside him. 

For those who had the honor of knowing Rene Ferrell, his passing is a deeply tragic and shocking loss. His passion for life extended beyond his public service. In the wake of his departure, the legacy of Rene Ferrell will be cherished and remembered fondly by the people of Robertson County. His contributions as a lifelong public servant will forever remain a shining example of selflessness and dedication to the greater good.
